Play Ball!

The Red Kettle staff would like to give a big welcome to Coach Seth Stevens and Coach Jennifer Browning.

Coach Stevens is the new head baseball coach at Central Private who has a long history with CP.  He  started school at CP in the first grade, where he met and made friends that he still has today. In 8th grade Coach Stevens was moved up to the varsity baseball team where he became part of the 2008 state champion team.

When asked why Central Private was the right fit for him he said  that it was a “no brainer” and that Central Private runs in his blood. Coach Stevens sounded very confident about the upcoming season as he stated that the team is filled with great leadership and kids willing to work.

Also joining the coaching staff is Jennifer Browning who will serve as the softball coach. Coach Browning is no stranger to Central Private. Her children attend the school and she has always been an active parent.

Browning attended LSU-A and graduated with a degree in Psychology.  She is currently working on her masters degree. While in college she played shortstop for the Generals. She said getting a degree was important but, “the game of softball taught me more than I can say. It was also a place to relax and it shaped the person, wife and mother I am today.”

She said she is extremely excited to begin the 2020 softball season. Talking about her team, Coach Browning said, “ They are going to be savages. They have not stepped on the field since 2018, so I think they will be hungry to play.” The first varsity game is February 26th at St. Michaels.

The Red Kettle staff would like to wish both coaches and the baseball and softball teams the best of luck this season. Go Redhawks!
